Download Day

Finally, the release of the much anticipated Firefox 3 has arrived. Today (June 17, 2008) is Firefox 3 Download Day and also the official date for the launch of Firefox 3. For those of you that have no idea what Firefox is, for the newbie, that's fine; for those who use internet for many years, then you are really outdated.

FireFox is a web browser created by Mozilla, the original creators of the Netscape series of browsers. Version one was released in November 2004 and quickly gained new fans because of its open source license and multitude of features. It is also a outstanding alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

Ok, enough story about Firefox. The purpose of today's post is to spread the news that Mozilla is going to
shoot for a world record attempt of most software downloaded in 24 hours. So when they release the Firefox 3 software on today (US Time 10 a.m.) for 24 hours, all the people around are shooting to set the first world record of its kind.

So be part of it and get involved to help set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours. To get all the details you can click on the image above to get taken to the Firefox 3 World Record Attempt Page.
