Remember Rings- Never Forget an Anniversary!

Guys have the inherent ability to forget important dates like birthdays and "first-time" trivia, but the unpardonable sin would be forgetting the wedding anniversary. It will make your life miserable (at least for a month).

Here comes your ultimate reminder, a Reminder Ring, this ring will heats up to 120F degrees for at least 10 seconds, on every hour starting from the day before your anniversary date. The ring is powered by battery that will charge itself using your body heat so it will not died out before it gets to burn your finger. That's supposed to be warm enough to be uncomfortable but not hot enough to burn you. Just specify your anniversary date when you order the ring, and they'll program your ring for you. Remember Rings require no special care, and are completely water proof and impact resistant.

So if you do not want to miss your anniversary, go get it now or you just have to remember it by yourself!

How You Back Up Your Blog?

Ever think of a day when you try to login to Blogger and find your blogger blog gone, corrupted or deleted forever due to any unknown error, that should be one of the worst day in your life. Can you imagine that?

Blogger does not have an export or download function. However, Blogger provided some instructions to create a single file with all your posts which you may publish and then copy to your own computer for use as a backup. See How do I create a backup of my entire blog? However, this will involve replacing your current template with a temporary template, saving, republishing and then putting it back again. I do not like this method.

Another way is using an online blog backup service such as BlogBackupOnline.com. BlogBackupOnline is a cool service that lets you backup your blogs for free (up to 5MB). The great thing about this service is that it takes no technical knowledge to set up your blog backup. You sign up for a free account, provide them the url of your blog and they will take care of the rest.

Now, they are in a mode called Freemium which means they are still free for most starter blogs with less than 5MB of data. But, they are also ready to cater to bloggers who want to back more data as well who require technical support.

Professional account will include:
- 50 MB of storage
- Support for backing up content linked from your blog
- Support for restoring your blog
- Email support
- $4.17 per month ($49.95 per year)

Enterprise account will include:
- 1 GB of storage
- Support for backing up content linked from your blog
- Support for restoring your blog
- Phone support
- $8.30 per month ($99.95 per year)

Try out this free service and you can sleep tight knowing you won’t lose your blog content when the time you wake up. Again, it is always wise to have multiple backup strategies but this will be a good start if you don’t have any at the moment. Make blog back ups a habit and you will never regret.

ApriPoko - Toshiba's Universal Remote Controller-bot

This cute little thing is actually a voice-operated infrared universal remote control for multiple home appliances. The 5-pound, 11-inch-tall android is called ApriPoko, and is capable of learning how to control electronics by watching you and asking questions about your behavior.

ApriPoko sits in the living room and waits for you to use a remote control. When its sensors detect infrared rays emitted by a remote, the robot speaks up: “What did you just do?” it asks. Talk back to ApriPoko (”I turned on the TV” or “I switched to channel MTV,” for example), and it will memorize your actions. It's even equipped with a camera to identify users, presumably to learn their habits. So, next time when you want to turn on the TV or change the channel, simply tell ApriPoko and it will move its IR transmitter arm and transmit appropriate IR signal directly to the device.

Apparently, this little guy is still in the R&D stages and is limited to simple commands, but Toshiba is plan to turn this technology into a consumer product soon.
